Start with a person doing something. “A reader choosing a colour scheme for a poster” is useful. “A premium, modern experience” is not a task.

Use the real words, images and data. Decide what needs to be understood first. Sketch two different arrangements before choosing fonts and effects. The difference should change how the content is understood—not merely its costume.

Space has a job.

A gap can separate ideas, frame a work or give a reader time. Leftover space has done none of those things. Shared edges, proximity and scale should show what belongs together.

Geometry carries meaning.

A circle may identify a route. A number may tell you where you are in a book. If the shape only says “Bauhaus”, it has not earned its place.

Colour has two jobs. Keep them apart.

Wada's combinations offer relationships for an expressive field. Interface colour also reports state and guides action. An attractive chord is not permission to recolour an emergency warning. Measure text against its actual ground; give every signal a second carrier.

留白应当分组、衬托作品或安排阅读节奏。共同边线、距离和尺度要说明信息之间的关系。几何形状必须有作用，不能只负责“看起来像包豪斯”。

和田的配色可以营造氛围，但界面颜色也承担状态与导航。不要为了氛围改写警报颜色的含义。检查实际背景上的文字对比，并用文字或符号补充颜色。

A distinctive page can still use ordinary search, Back and scrolling. Spend the surprise on the work—not on making people decode the controls.

Write the words a person would use to find something. Put a heading nearer the text it introduces than the text it follows. Remove ceremony, but keep context and uncertainty. An essay needs room to be read, not a forced conversion into slogans.

The content-swap test

If another product's names replaced these, which important part of the composition would stop making sense? If the answer is “nothing”, find the missing decision tied to the subject. This is a critique prompt, not an AI detector.

The Mama Rule

Ask an older nontechnical person to perform the real task without coaching. Observe the first click, hesitation and recovery. Test the system, not their intelligence. One person is an early source of failures—not a representative sample of everyone.

Keep three verdicts separate: the code works; the composition communicates; a real person can use it. Do not mark all three passed because one screenshot looks good.

Read the words before choosing their face. A chapter asks for sustained reading; a route label asks to be found quickly. Neither becomes more human simply by wearing an unusual font.

Choose the body first.

Proof the approved family on real paragraphs, controls, captions and numbers. A display face can be wonderful at a large size and exhausting in a paragraph. Keep one family if it supplies the roles. A companion earns its place through a different task or script—not fashion.

Type has colour, too.

In typography, colour also means the density of a text block. Face, weight, spacing, measure and leading work together. Check that texture on the actual palette. Do not tighten every heading or force every language into a 66ch column: the CSS unit measures a zero, not an average character.

Every script deserves equal craft.

Match apparent size and rhythm across English, Thai and Chinese, not only pixel values. Check Thai marks, Chinese punctuation, line breaks and mixed-script names. Latin capitals and letterspacing are not universal instructions. Proof enlarged text and failed font loads; preserve emphasis when a cut is missing.

中文 — 字体与语境

先读真实文字，再选择字体。文章需要持续阅读，路线标识和按钮需要快速辨认。陌生的字体并不会自动让设计更有人味。

先测试项目允许的正文字体，用真实段落、按钮、说明和数字判断。只有不同任务或文字覆盖需要，才增加搭配字体。字号、行距、行长、字距和字重应在实际配色上一起检查。

英、泰、中三种文字应有相称的视觉大小和节奏，不只是相同的像素值。检查泰文附加符号、中文标点、换行及混排姓名。拉丁文字的大写和字距规则不能照搬。测试文字放大和字体加载失败，并保留强调的意义。
